Graduate students are immersed in an academic landscape that is changing underneath their feet. And as more attention is paid to recruiting broadly, it is harder to know what grad students do and don’t understand about their work, and how it fits into a wider higher education landscape.
As a coach, I work with students all over the world, and in all disciplines, and have developed a set of talks and workshops that are actionable, supportive, and realistic. And because of my training as an educational developer, I know how to create workshops that are more than just a slide presentation over Zoom - participants walk away with skills, workbooks, and pathways to take what they’ve learned and use it.
Because of the current conditions, it’s actually a great time to invite speakers and NOT have to pay their travel costs. And I’m also willing to travel, if that’s a better fit for you! The more sources of support graduate students have, the more empowered they feel to work independently, which helps everyone.
